Annuntio Vobis Gaudium Magnum: Habemus Episcopum Novum!
_____________________________
It is with great joy that I announce to you the nomination and election of
THE REVEREND IRVIN NICHOLAS PLANT
Pastor of Saint Mary’s Mission in Max Meadows, Virginia
to the Sacred Office of Bishop
with the Title of Titular Bishop of Dansara and First Ordinary of the
Missionary Diocese of the Southeast
in the North American Old Roman Catholic Church.
Bishop-Elect Plant was elected by the College of Bishops of this Church,
and the Missionary Diocese of the Southeast was erected by their canonical authority
to fill a needed vacancy in the College of Bishops of this Church, occasioned by the death of the late Archbishop Edmund F. Leeman, T.O.R.
The erection of the new Diocese is in accord with the decision of the College of Bishops
to restructure the diocesan organization within our jurisdiction in order to provide better
pastoral support and oversight to the clergy and congregations committed to Our care.
Bishop-Elect Plant will be consecrated to the Episcopate of this Church, on
Saturday October 15, 2011
1:00 P.M.
at the
Cathedral of the Air
located at the entrance of the Naval Air Engineering Station
Lakehurst, New Jersey.
