LITURGICAL PROCLAMATIONS

The Church has traditionally known and used three Liturgical Proclamations in the Sacred Liturgy. All three of them are also traditionally proclaimed by a Deacon whenever possible. Those three Liturgical Proclamations are: The Proclamation of the Birth of our Lord which is sung just before the beginning of the Christmas Eve Midnight Mass; The Proclamation of the Date of Easter and the Movable Feasts of the year, which is sung following the Gospel on the Feast of the Epiphany; and the Easter Proclamation, known as the Exultet, which is sung at the Solemn Easter Vigil following the blessing and procession of the Easter Candle. We have dedicated a special page for each of these Solemn Liturgical Proclamations.
